This post is dedicated to my sis, role model, friend, Nicki Minaj.

Two nights ago she snagged two Amercian Music Awards. One for Best Rap Artist of the Year, and the other for Best Rap ALBUM of The Year. Both well deserved.

Nick has worked hard since 2007, from mixtape to AMA's. What better way to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of your FIRST, PLATINUM, selling album ?!

In her speech (in tears) she stated "CHASE YOUR DREAMS"! Well said coming from the poster child of inspiration & success.

It can happen, and it will. - JM

In Drake's "Make Me Proud", Nicki Minaj talks about her upcoming projects coming to life. She will most certainly be the first rapper turned mogul.

Nicki Minaj told Allure magazine that she plans to release her own fragrance line later this year.

"I like scents that feel summery, but have a va-va-voom. I want to smell like a sexy and confident woman, not like candy," the "Moment 4 Life" -NM

"Im so proud of you!"

"Di Liar" Video Premiere

Jahni Moody released 2nd mix-single, "Di Liar" video on 11/11/11

The remix answers/responds to Mavado's "Delilah".

Thursday, November 10, 2011

I do not a have mix tape out. So long story short i refer to my releases as, "mixsingle"s, contrary to a mixtape, because yes it is just one.

I will not be releasing any of my ORIGINAL music anytime soon, for obvious reasons. While im writing and recording my original music, im having fun for the mean time in between time with my "mixsingles".

You know where you heard the term first. xoxo

Anyway #DiLiar drops 11/11/11

Yesterday, in Washington DC, (46 years after Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech) the memorial to the Nobel Peace Prize winner was finally held. It was originally suppose to take place on August 28, 2011, but due to natural disasters such as Hurricane Irene, it took place yesterday morning. With everyone in attendence, such as the President Obama himself; speakers from, Martin's Sister, yougest daughter, Martin Luther King the 3rd, Rev Al Sharpton, Cecile Tyson, and entertainers like Mary Mary, and Stevie Wonder, the list can go on and on. But most importantly, the people. We came out and celebrated this God given man to the world, and we will all continue to live in his legacy and continue the dream which is not yet completed.

‎"Like" Jahni Moody's "Gal Down" Video at ------------------------> (the unsigned artist section).

1,000 whos?! 1,000 views !!

1,000? Yeah. That may not be a lot to you. But for a first project, and not so much promo (as i usually do for my model promo videos), "Gal Down" did a pretty good job on its own. So again, i am very proud.

If you havent watched it, catch up, because "Di Liar" is coming and you dont want to get left behind. Lol.

First of all GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND !! GOOGLE everything someone sends to you and type the word 'scam' by it and see what pops up before even take anything serious. if you find nothing then ask a million questions.

before you accept any job make sure u know the job/gig at hand, and if you are comfortable with it. Then ask questions about compensation. if these ppl are going to expliot you, which is what modeling pretty much is. Make sure you are getting paid for it, of that itll look good enough for your resume, or if you can use it as a teer sheet (any photo in a publication, magazine, relaxer box, etc) model mayhem sites are good but its alot of ppl like everything else these days who pose as "PHOTOGRAPHERS" just get girls, talk to girls or even worst.

Anybody with a camera does not make them a photographer. Ask to see portfolios. Make sure you speak with models who have worked with tis person or company before.

Its best to have an agency because they play the middle man for you, and take care of all the legal issues and make sure ur getting paid. But beware of fake agencies. or agencies that ask for money to represent you. If they truly believe in you theyll sign you because the know theyll make comission (maybe 10 %) off of you with everyjob you get. so real agencies wont ask for money.

They may be times where you have to spend money if you want to work with professional photographers you like. some scam with agencies is that theyll send u to a photograoher they know and will split the money with them, and after your photoshoot ull never hear from the again. they will go as far as to send yu to fake audtions they set up so that u believe they are a real agency.

As much as i can go on, the MOST important thing about modeling. is to be modeling something. Ass shots do no count. of course i had to learn the hard way because i thought as a black model with shape this is what i had to do to be successful. but it does nothing for your portfolio and your stuck with photos u grow to hate on the internet. lol.

hope this was enough. GOOD LUCK !!

So Jahni Moody's new mix-single, "Gal Down", made it's virtual premiere on August 15th.

Its a remake of Rihanna's single titled "Man Down".

The video, however, tells its story in Kingston, Jamaica. The average story of a young girl who falls for a much older guy, who is then heart broken. She has a child very young (like many teenage pregnancies), except this girl falls victim to postpartum depression, and does the unthinkable. If you haven't checked the video, here it is!!!!!!

My Fav again. Isn't having the last laugh just the best ?

Beyonce is on her grown woman ish on this new album. Alot of people have negative things to say about it. But I think it's perfect and most definitely age appropriate. She's not following as far as sound, she's leading. 4 sounds classic and timeless. I can hear a lil bit of all the previous albums such as 'dangerously in love' in "party" to be example. You still hear hints of the younger B, but there's is definately growth. Beyonce is and '4' ever will be the greatest.

Man Down

So I just seen Rhianna's video to Man Down. I thought it was absolutely perfect. Alot of times we get so caught in just having fun, that we are not alert. Many young women, or young girls are not paying attention. It has alot to do with being naive. What happened in the video, where Ri is sexually assaulted happens offen. What's the reason? Many people will argue, it's the way we dress, or the way we behave or conduct ourselves. But let's face it, no one DESERVES to be raped! Yes shooting him was violent but I'm sure it's how alot victims feel. I'm sure alot of people would believe it was justified. I know I do. It's a video, and route she chose to depict the song wasn't bad at all. That song could have meant so many things. I never once thought the song would be about rape. So congrats to Rihanna, the controversy is well deserved; and I believe it will open eyes for us young women that anything can happen. Be aware and stay alert. Kudos to her and the director. I only hope you guys will like my remake I did with the song. Video is being edited. Stay tuned.

But for now here is the link to Rihanna's Man Down
